MAKAL resolves to appeal for deployment of Assam police in Lakhipur

Condemning the brutal killing of Soibam Saratkumar Singh on June 6, the Manipuri Kanba Lup (MAKAL) has resolved to appeal the Assam Chief Minister, DGP and local MLA to deploy a company of Assam police in vulnerable regions of Lakhipur.
According to a press release issued by Seram Herajit, convenor, MAKAL, the Lup convened an emergency meeting at Manipuri Guest House Konjengleikai at 3 pm today and passed many resolutions in view of the unrest prevailing in Jiribam.
The meeting was chaired by RK Sanahal, chairman, MAKAL; Beni Misha, president, AMMPAL and Krishna Mohon.
Demanding swift arrest and strict legal action against the culprits involved in the killing of Saratkumar, MAKAL resolved to provide immediate relief to the displaced families from Jiribam.
Thus, MAKAL has urged people to donate clothes and contact L Robindra and E Tarun Kumar at Lakhipur, A Swapan Singha and Gourababu Singha at Konjengleikai, RK Sanahal and Bina Devi at Sribar, Umananda Singha at Pailapool, Th Birolal at Laboc, Thangjam Brojen at Joypur Kamrang, Asangbam Swapan at Singerbond, L Champala at Silchar, Seram Herajit in Udharbond area or contact mobile no 7086023979 (Seram Herajit, convenor, MAKAL) to donate clothes.
Secondly, MAKAL has resolved to send teams to inspect the Meetei villages along the Assam-Manipur border.

Lastly, MAKAL has resolved to submit an appeal to Assam Chief Minister, DGP and local MLA to send a company of Assam Police at Lakhipur.
