Imphal, Sep 05: A meeting between top officials of State's PWD and representatives of Chandelbased organisations held yesterday culminated with the selection of land near the district's DC office for the construction of Mini Secretariat Building of Chandel district.

according to informed source, public leaders, chiefs and NGO members who attended the meeting held at the office chamber of the DC proposed two different locations out of which one measuring 44.75 acres and located within a 1 kilometre radius of the DC's office was endorsed.

The other site measuring 43.00 acres falls within the boundary of Modi village.

Both the proposed sites are donated by four villages of the district.

Adding that the Govt side was led by Addl Chief Engineer (No III, PWD) Dr Gt Sharma, former president of the UNC L Benjamin said the local authorities authorised the Chandel DC and PWD official to select site for the construction of the Mini Secretariat building.

improvement works of the PallelChandel Road also figured in the joint meeting which further resolved to complete all pending works within the current financial year.
