BSNL employees call 2-day strike

Imphal, April 21 2015 :
BSNL employees of Manipur on Tuesday staged stay-out from duty supporting the nation wide two day strike by the Forum of BSNL Unions/ Associations demanding to revival of BSNL.
In an separate press statement issued by Forum of BSNL Unions/ Associations Convener H Yaima , executive BSNL employees of Manipur SSA staged out from their duty on the first day and official works were paralyzed and this will continue till Wednesday.
The employees have been demanding to revival of BSNL; immediate purchase of various equitments for providing mobile, broadband, etc; BSNL should start 4G service without any delay, it was demanded.
The strike demands submitted by the forum are mainly intended to improve the services and to improve the financial viability of the company.
Forum alleged that the Secretary, Department of Telecom nor the Communications Minister have so far not invited the Unions/Associations for any discussion or settlement of the issued.
'The entire responsibility for the strike and its adverse impact on the services and difficulties to the public lies with the Government and the Management', the statement added.
