Imphal, May 10 2011:
Objecting to the flagship training programme of the Congress party schedule to be held on May 13 at Longmai, the Longmai Village Authority has pointed out that the organiser of the training programme or any of the Congress workers have sought formal permission of the village authority to conduct such a programme in the village.
In a joint statement, secretary of Longmai village authority Ading Golmei and Village Authority member Gailung Gangmei, asserted that Longmai village is govern by its village authority and Pei in accordance to the custom of the people.
So, bypassing the village authority by some politicians for their own vested interest with use of muscle and money power is a humiliation.
Moreover, chairman of ADC Tamenglong Soihiam Haomei is yet to appear in the court of Longmai village authority to give his testimony over the disruption caused to the visit of MP Thangso Baite to inaugurate a BSNL tower at Longmai.
So, Soihiam Haomei should not dare to organise, enter and participate in a function at Longmai village.
The village authority would have warmly welcome and extend maximum co-operation in the proposed training programme if prior permission had been sought.
