Cultural programme held at Kangchup

Red Shield Division organised an interactive cultural programme at Kangchup today.
Keeping in mind tense situation prevailing in the State, leading to quarrels and clashes in Singda area about a month ago, a need was felt to create a friendly environment for rapprochement and peace between different communities, said a statement issued by the PIB (DW).
As youth are called future of a nation, carrying the burden of expectations,ainteractive cultural programme was organised by Noney Battalion, under Bishenpur Brigade, in Kangchup, aptly themed 'Youth for Change' .

The interactive cultural programme brought different communities of the area, namely Kukis, Naga and Meiteis under one roof.
Various cultural programmes were performed by all the communities.
The event was chaired by Commandant, Noney Battalion, Col Rajiv Chaudhary, and was also attended by N Biren Singh and S Rajen Singh, OC Singda PS Mangjalam Kipgen, SDO Kangchup, 14 village chiefs, 3 village pradhans, MDC S Dama Vaiphei, 20 village members, Chairperson Lamsang Nagar Panchayat, counsellors of Lamsang area.
In his address, the Commandant emphasised the role of youth in development of area and maintaining of peace, as also, the value of keeping the doors of rapprochement and interaction between different communities always open.
The event was followed by prizes drisribution, it said.
