For the first time in the North East region, Manipur has launched a new website enabling voters and the general public to make online registration in electoral rolls.
The new website http://webmani.nic.in/erms was launched by the Chief Electoral Officer at Secretariat , South Block today.
Using this website, any intending elector or public may log on to this website and download as well as submit Form-6 for inclusion of his/her name for the first time in the electoral roll.
The same form may also be used for transfer of Assembly constituency.
Other forms like Form 7 for deletion of his/her name from electoral roll or objection to entry of another elector in the electoral roll, and Form 8 for correction of his/her particulars in the electoral roll may also be downloaded and submitted through the website.
Form 8A for transfer of his/her name from one polling station to another within the same Assembly Constituency is also available at the website.
The website would be accessible by any one from anywhere and applicants can track the status of the forms submitted by them any time, the CEO said.
Saying that the new initiative was taken up under a directive of the Election Commission, the CEO informed that final list of the electoral rolls would be published on January 5 next year after the ongoing special revision of electoral rolls is completed.
Young voters who have been registered for the first time on attaining 18 years of age would be felicitated at State, district and block levels on National Voters' Day scheduled to be held on January 25 .
