Leingangching denizens urge Govt to complete road construction

Chandel, December 28 2022:
Residents of Leingangching village have appealed to the State Government to complete construction of the 8 Km long stretch of road from Pallel Chandel Road to Leingangching, passing through Charangching under Chandel district.
It may be noted that construction on this road stretch was taken up under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) .
A team consisting of Leingangching village ningthou Sn Monok; Village Authority chief, Thampor Leikon; secretary Sungnem Darmi; assistant chief Sn Motit; youth secretary Sn Darngam; and Village Authority members Lu Thamtupur and Rengting carried out an inspection of the road today.

Speaking in this regard, Sungnem Darmi stated that the road passes through Kakching Khunou Umathel, Leingangching, Charangching, ultimately reaching Chandel District Headquarter.
"Construction of the stretch of road in question began under Phase XI of PMGSY", he said.
Sungnem Darmi also shared that only 3 km of the 8 km road stretch had been completed which has caused a lot of inconveniences to the local residents, including road mishaps.
He continued that villagers were not satisfied with the quality of materials used in the road construction.
Sungnem Darmi further appealed to Chief Minister N Biren Singh to complete the construction and black topping of the road stretch in the interest of the public.
