PCSI, SAYOL Foundation celebrate Foundation Day

The Palliative Care Society Imphal (PCSI) marked its 11th Foundation Day with a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on "NeuroPalliative Care" at the Shija Auditorium, Langol on Sunday.
As per a release issued by PCSI, the event brought together 50 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, medical social workers, and volunteers, to discuss advancements in palliative care for stroke patients.
The CME featured a panel discussion on the multidisciplinary management of stroke, moderated by Dr Nandan Choudhary, joint secretary, PCSI.
The panel included Dr Gautam Chabungbam, Consultant Neurosurgeon; Shija Hospitals & Research Institute; Dr Rahul Oinam, Consultant Neurologist, Shija Hospitals; Dr Jugindra Sorokhaibam, president, PCSI; and Dr Y Premchandra, member, PCSI.
The discussion emphasized coordinated care, focusing on early intervention, symptom management, rehabilitation, and psychosocial support to improve outcomes for stroke patients in palliative settings.
Dr Ningthoukhongjam Subodha, secretary, PCSI, delivered the welcome and keynote address, highlighting PCSI's mission to expand access to dignified end-of-life care.
The event concluded with the felicitation of the panelists and moderator, followed by a vote of thanks from Dr Sadhana Ningthoujam, executive member, PCSI .
SAYOL Foundation
SAYOL Foundation celebrated its 8th Foundation Day at Senate Hall, Earth Science Department, Manipur University, Canchipur today.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including SCERT, Government of Manipur, Director, Aheibam Romel Singh; SAYOL Foundation chairman; Elangbam Samananda Singh; MIMS, Manipur University, Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei; social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram and Manipur University, Department of Teacher Education, Assistant Prof, Dr Koijam Sobita.
As part of the event, Sayol State Excellence Award was presented to Asatullah Tampakmayum and Laining Solution's founder Yumkhaibam Ibomcha Meetei.
The award carries a citation, memento, lengyan and cash reward of Rs 10,000 .
