Never denied family from taking Sobhachandra's mortal remains: Police

Bishnupur, December 20 2024: Police have clarified that they never denied N Sobhachandra's family from claiming his body.

It was the family who didn't take the dead body, said the police.

Notably, N Sobhachandra lost his life in an accident on December 15, when the Honda Dio he was driving collided with a Tata Yodha at Naranseina.

According to the police, on the fateful day, they registered a case and conducted an inquiry regarding the incident.

A person was also arrested in connection with the accident.

But despite a request from the police to the family to take the dead body, the family members were reportedly not able to come to an agreement with the other party involved in the unfortunate road accident and hence did not claim the dead body, clarified the police.

Therefore, the police have appealed to not spread such false news again in the future by blaming them when both parties fail to come to an agreement.

Meanwhile, the mortal remains of Nameirakpam Sobhachandra was taken this morning by the family members and his last rites were performed, said the police.
