Imphal, August 14Chief Minister, O Ibobi today expressed his willingness to tender resignation after delivering justice on the alleged fake encounter killing, if people wish in a talk with the representatives of the agitating Joint Action Committee formed in connection with the killing of Ch Sanjit in fake encounter by the police commandos on July 23 last.

Meanwhile, all the women protestors detained yesterday and kept in the custody of the Porompat police station have been released this late evening after detention of 10 hours in their custody.

On government invitation, eight members of the JAC including three in the police custody held talks with the Chief Minister, O Ibobi at his office bungalow this afternoon at about 1 .30 .

The talks lasted for about half an hour.

Anita, convener of the JAC told reporters after the meeting that they have strongly insisted the CM to tender resignation from the chief ministership on moral ground and dismiss of the police commandos involved in the fake encounter killing of Ch Sanjit on July 23 firing incident at crowded Khwairamband Bazar from their services.

The talk mostly concentrated on the demands put forward by the JAC and Apunba Lup spearheading the people agitation on the killing Ch Sanjit in fake encounter along with a young pregnant woman July 23 firing incident which five other people also injured.

In reply to the insistence, Ibobi told them to give some time to find the fact of the incident.

Government has decided to conduct judicial enquiry as desire and demand by the people.

He wanted to deliver justice to people on the incident before tendering resignation as the incident occurred during his tenure.

He would not be happy tendering resignation before delivering justice, the Anita says as stated by the Chief Minister during the talks.

However, there is question of suspending the agitations by his statement even though there have some progress in the talk, JAC representatives said reaffirming their demands of seeking resignation of the chief minister and termination of the police commando personnel involved in the fake encounter.

During the talked, they also insisted the chief minister to release all the 14 agitators picked by the police yesterday while trying to disturb a government function attend by the chief minister, O Ibobi Singh- among which three of them included in the talk.

Even though chief minister informally agreed to look into the matter of release of six members of the JAC, he did not gave any exact reply with regard to the remaining eight members of the Apunba Lup picked together.

Chief Minister also assured to take up appropriate action against the police personnel involved in the incident if they are found guilty after the judicial enquiry when the representatives pressed him to tell whether Rabina was killed by the bullet of the police commandos or in the firing by the underground.

Fourteen women protestors, six representing JAC and eight representing the Apunba Lup were picked by the police while trying to disturb a function held at Palace Compound in connection with the unveiling of curtail of the statue of the Thangal General, war heroes of 1891.
