SFs strike it rich with six arrest

Imphal, October 12 2012: Imphal West district commandos arrested a member each of KCP (MC) and PLA from Keishampat CCpur Parking and Sekmai Bazar on October 10 .

According to a statement issued by the SP of Imphal West, the arrested UGs were identified as Konjengbam Icha alias Ibemcha Devi (37) d/o (L) K Hera of Moirang Pansang Leikai, Lamkhai a KCP (MC) cadre and SS Sgt Maj Thingbaijam Ahanjao alias Tomba alias Thambou (36) s/o Th Theba of Irengbam Awang Leikai, Bishnupur district, a PLA cadre.

Meanwhile, sleuths of Narcotic Cell, Imphal West arrested one individual from Moirangkhom near Krishnapremi Oil Pump along with 25 gram of No 4 (Heroin) powder.

The man has been identified as Sagolshem Chinglensana Singh (29) s/o S Kulla of Andro Kharam Leikai, Imphal East district, the statement added.

Meanwhile, discovering the presence of UG cadres in Pallel Bazaar of Chandel district, troops of 42 Assam Rifles and 6 DOGRA of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) launched joint operation in the area and apprehended one NSCN(IM) cadre on October 11.The apprehendee was identified as Geeta Manjam Sharma (35), s/o (L) Godabar Sharma of Sagalband Salam Leikai,Imphal West.

One 9 mm Pistol with magazine and three live rounds were recovered from the apprehendee, said a PRO of IGAR (S) release.

In an unrelated incident, Security forces under the Red Shield Division apprehended two Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) cadres on October 11 .

Based on specific intelligence, a swift operation was launched which led to apprehension of two KNLF Cadres from village M Simol & village Saibok in Churachandpur district, a PIB (DW) release said.

Both individuals have been identified as Thangsanglun Haokip alias Sasang alias Kolphe, s/o Tinlal Haokio, of Molbunginga, Singhat Sub Division District Churachandpur and Tongkholun Khongsai, s/o (L) Lengkholun Khongsai, of M Songgel, district Churachandpur.

Both individuals were involved in extortion activities from civilians in Churachandpur district.

One Round Seal of KNLF, One KNLF Financial Secretary Seal, Two Blank copies of KNLF Pad, One Extortion note signed by Harry Kuki that was given to Bihari Associate of Churachandpur for an amount of Rupees 1.5 Lakhs (yet to be delivered) were recovered from their possessions.

These individual have also reported to be involved in a grenade throwing ring of KNLF.

Both apprehended cadres were handed over to Imphal West Police Station, the PIB (DW) statement said.
