MMPCC urges authorities to expedite developmental works in Haoreibi

Stating that various developmental projects in Lilong Assembly Constituency has been left incomplete, the Meitei & Meitei Pangal Coordinating Committee, MMPCC Haoreibi Lilong, an apex body of22 clubs of Ngangou Loukol Haoreibi has urged the Government to expedite the work and finish the construction at the earliest.
Today, a team of MMPCC Haoreibi Lilong led by president Deben Asem, Turel Ahanbi Zilla Parishad member, Abdul Hasim, Oinam Sawombung GP chairperson, Asem Romesh and other members visited various construction sites and reviewed developmental works taken up in the Constituency.
MMPCC general secretary, BC Yunush Atiqur said construction of Makha Leikai Khulakpam Water Supply Scheme, Makha Leikai Kongel Water Supply Scheme, Oinam Sawombung Water Supply Scheme, Turel Ahanbi Dam Water Supply Scheme, Mayai Leikai and Laiphrakpam Water Supply Scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission in Lilong Haoreibi have not been completed.
The construction began in 2020.The Jal Jeevan Mission which aims to provide tap water connections to every household by 2024 has completely failed in the Constituency, said Yunush.
He continued that if the authority concerned fails to complete the construction at the earliest, MMPCC will ban the agencies concerned from doing any construction works in the area.
He also urged the Government to immediately expedite the construction of Lilong Yangbi Leikai Bridge, Samurou Konjil Awang Leikai Bridge, Oinam Sawombung Wangoi RC Bridge, Leiphrakpam Awang Leikai Bailey Bridge, Atoukhong Maning Leikai Bailey Bridge which have been left incomplete after the construction began in 2019 .
He further appealed to the Government to repair the 13 Km long road of Lilong Haoreibi.
