12th MANIFA 2025 set for Sep 20, entry forms to be available from Aug 6

Kakching, August 02 2025: The 12th edition of the Manipur Film Awards (MANIFA) 2025 will be held on September 20 at District Headquarters Kakching.

As always, the annual awards event which honours excellence in Manipuri cinema will be jointly organised by THOUNA, Manipur in collaboration with Film Forum Manipur.

The announcement was made by Yengkhom Nilachandra, president, THOUNA, Manipur during a felicitation programme welcoming the new office bearers of Film Forum Manipur held today at Library and Information Centre, Kakching Phousupat Leikai.

The 11th Manipur Film Awards was held on April 2, 2023 and since then, the awards ceremony has been put on hold due to the prevailing restive situation in the State.

Entry forms for the 12 th MANIFA 2025 will be available at the office of Film Forum Manipur from August 6 onwards.

Last date of form submission is August 26 .

In the feature film category, the length of the film submissions should be between 72-180 minutes and not more than 30 minutes in the nonfeature film category, informed Y Nilachandra.

At the event, K Ronelchandra Meitei, general secretary, Film Forum Manipur said that films released between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024 and reviewed/certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) are eligible for MANIFA 2025 .

The submitted films will be screened by a panel of jury from August 28 and the nominated films will be announced on September 5 .

Interestingly, a new award has been added to the roster of awards given at MANIFA, namely, "Best Non Feature Award" .

With this, 30 awards are up for grabs at the 12th MANIFA 2025, including 3 lifetime achievement awards, added the general secretary of Film Forum Manipur.

Today's event was also graced by Film Forum Manipur Chairman Kh Kuleswar, former chairmen and other members of the Forum as well as THOUNA Manipur.
