Ekhramei fest at Makhan Khullen concludes

The two-day cultural festival of Ekhramei (Makhan) Union ended on Januray 5 at Makhan Khullen (Khrabu), the native village of Ekhramei, under the theme, 'Our Heritage for a shared destiny' .
The first ever gathering of the Ekhremei Union was held on April 14, 1981 and the same festival was celebrated after 5 years.
Today's event is the third in the history of Ekhramei (Makhan) Union, celebrating after a gap of 31 years.
Ekhramei comprised of seven villages Makhan Khullen, New Makhan, Makhan centre, Makhan Khuman, Makhan Lovadziingho, Makhan Tabio and Makhan Otobu.
Naga Students Federation (NSF) president Kelhouneizo Yhome and Commandant of 5 Assam Rifles, Col Vikram Dubey were the cultural guests of the inaugural function.
In his speech, Col Dubey emphasised on the importance of preserving the culture Ekhremei.
He added that Ekhremei people need to restore the heritage for better tomorrow.
