Tripura, April 30 2018:
North-East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS) criticizes the recent insensitive comments of Tripura Chief Minister, Biplab Kumar Deb regarding generation of jobs in the state.
Emblematic of his derogatory attitude towards the youth of the state, the statement asks them not to worry the government for generating jobs.
Instead, he exhorts youth to milk cows and set up pan shops to earn a living.
The remark can be likened to PM Modi's earlier advice to youth to fry 'pakodas' in order to get self-employed.
Also, it should be known that the CM seems busier making controversial comments, rather than implementing policies aimed at people's welfare.
The comment has upset youth and people at large across the state which is widely being seen as just an instance of the larger anti-people attitude being shown by the government.
It is noteworthy that the BJP made big promises during elections to bring in policies aimed at uplifting the indigenous people, especially massive generation of jobs.
However, no such policy has been forthcoming.
Instead, such controversial comments are being uttered and anti-people policies being taken without the least compunction by the BJP government.
NEFIS criticizes Tripura CM for his comments and demands that he should immediately apologize for hoodwinking people with false promises of job-generation, before elections to the state legislature.
