TPR drops to 1.4 pc

Even as the Covid-19 pandemic claimed one more life during the last 24 hours, today's positivity rate (TPR) dropped to 1.4 per cent, informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The latest victim hailed from Imphal West district.
The victim had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated.
The death toll now stands at 1966 Out of 1,660 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, 24 were confirmed positive at RIMS (2) and other testing centres (22) .
The 24 persons who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (2), Imphal West (8), Kakching (5), Churachandpur (1), Kamjong (3), Kangpokpi (1), Tameng-long (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (2) .
In the meantime, 34 persons were discharged following recovery from home isolation (10), RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (18).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,070 (general population 1,20,647 and Central security personnel 4,423).It includes 687 active cases (general population 621 and Central security personnel 66) and 1,22,417 recovered cases (general population 1,18,065 and Central security personnel 4,352).The recovery rate as on Thursday is 97.88 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 280 D-type oxygen cylinders and 105 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Wednesday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 21,22,498 (first dose 12,73,906 and second dose 8,48,592) .
It includes 4778 doses administered on November 24 .
Till yesterday, 54.42 per cent of the State's total population had been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 36.25 per cent had received both the first and second doses.
