14 test Covid positive, 22 discharged

Imphal, December 19 2021:
A total of 14 persons were infected by Covid-19 during the last 24 hours while 22 Covid-19 positive people were dischar-ged following recovery.
There was no report of Covid related death in the State during the same period which means the death toll remains unchanged at 1995 .
Out of 1,206 samples tested for Covid-19, 14 were confirmed positive at RIMS (2) and other testing centres (12), implying daily positivity rate of 1.2 per cent.
The newly infected individuals are residents of Imphal East (6), Imphal West (4), Thoubal (3) and Bishnupur (1) .
Thoubal logged the highest daily positive rate at 3 per cent followed by Imphal East 2.1 per cent and Bishnupur 1.9 per cent.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 22 Covid-19 positive people were discharged following recovery from home isolation (12), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (7).The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,627 (general population 1,21,194 and Central security personnel 4,433) .
This figure includes 195 active cases (general population 194 and Central security personnel 1) and 1,23,437 recovered cases (general population 1,19,010 and Central security personnel 4,427) .
The recovery rate as on Sunday is 98.26 per cent.
A total of 306 D-type oxygen cylinders and 72 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
Taking into account 4918 doses administered on Saturday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 22,68,207 (first dose 13,11,232 and second dose 9,56,975) .
Till December 18, 56.01 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been vaccinated with the first dose of Covid vaccine while 40.88 per cent has received both
the first and second doses.
