NPP notes enhanced security along NHs

Imphal, February 19 2025:
A team of NPP, Manipur unit led by its president Y Joykumar called on Governor Kumar Ajay Bhalla at Raj Bhavan today.
It is reported that the Governor made a significant commitment to allocate places for house construction of the internally displaced people (IDPs) who are still unable to return to their native places as soon as possible.
The meeting which began at 6 pm lasted around 45 minutes.
Speaking to the media, one of the NPP executives said that adequate security measures have been implemented along Imphal-Dimapur and Imphal-Jiribam roads to stop extortion, ensure safe passage of goods and people and facilitate the completion of the railway projects as per the Governor.

The Governor also assured to discuss the non-release of pension from June 2022 with the Chief Secretary to address the concerns of retired Government employees, he added.
He said that they also discussed the means to restore normalcy in Manipur and address the problems being faced by IDPs during the meeting.
Several other personalities including Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Director General of CRPF also called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan today.
Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Director General, CRPF, called on the Governor and presented a comprehensive briefing on the deployment and operational activities of the CRPF in the region.
He informed the Governor that "the force is well prepared to control any situation at any point in time" .
Separately, S Radhakrishnan, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India (SBI), Guwahati Circle along with other officials called on the Governor this evening.
The officials briefed the Governor on the various initiatives undertaken by the bank to reach far-flung areas of the State.
