Covid: State reports zero deaths

Imphal, December 08 2021: The State reported 'zero' Covid related fatalities for the second consecutive day today while reporting 23 new positive cases during the last 24 hours.

As the 23 cases were detected out of 1564 samples sent for testing, the TPR stood at 1.5 percent.

The positive cases were reported from Bishnupur (4), Churachandpur (2), Imphal East (5), Imphal West (11) and Kangpokpi (1) .

Bishnupur had the highest TPR of 2.9 percent as 4 samples had returned positive out of 139 samples; Imphal East and West had 2 percent each; Churachandpur had 1.8 percent and Kangpokpi 2.4 percent.

Altogether 23 individuals were discharged today from home isolation (9), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (11) .

With this discharged the total active case in the State is at 325 and the recovery rate is at 98.16 percent.

5647 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered till December 7 .

The cumulative doses that have been administered is 22,07,200 doses including 12,94,106 1st doses and 9,13,094 2nd doses.

As of December 7, the State has vaccinated 65.47 percent of the total eligible population with the first dose and 46.39 percent of the eligible population have received both the doses of the vaccine.
