Over 1.32 lakh voters deleted after SIR

The final photo electoral roll for the 60 Assembly Constituencies of Manipur was published today, recording a total of 19,60,620 voters.
The final electoral roll published by Chief Electoral Officer Arun Kumar Sinha at Lamphelpat today shows an increase of 26,221 voters from the 19,34,399 voters listed in the draft roll published on July 5, 2026 .
Following the Special Intensive Revision, 1,89,327 lakh voters were deleted and 56,871 were added during the exercise, reports PTI .
This works out to a total of 1,32,456 voters being deleted.

"After the SIR exercise, the State now has over 19.60 lakh electors across 60 Assembly Constituencies.
Of the total voters, 9,53,350 are men and 10.06 women.
There are 308 third-gender electors," said the CEO .
Sinha said the revision exercise began with 20.93 lakh electors on the voter list as of May 18 this year.
The number of voters in the final roll is 6.33 per cent less than the number of electors before the beginning of the revision exercise.
The draft electoral roll, published on July 5, had 19.34 lakh electors.
"During the claims and objections period from July 5 to August 4, the authorities received 96,985 claims and objections, all of which were processed for final publication.
The final list includes 56,871 additions, while 30,650 electors were deleted from the draft roll," he said.
The gender ratio stands at 1,056, while the electoral participation ratio is recorded at 51.99, he said.
"Enumeration forms were generated and distributed to all electors, of which 19,34,399 forms were returned," he said, adding that the remaining 1,58,677 electors were excluded.
Based on probable reasons, including being absent, shifted, deceased, duplicate entries and other reasons, the excluded electors were categorised, he said.
"As many as 34,740 were classified as absent electors, 72,473 as shifted electors, 43,000 as deceased electors, 7,394 as duplicate entries and 1,070 cases were given under other reasons," he added.
Female electors outnumbered male electors, with 10,06,962 female voters compared to 9,53,350 male voters in the final roll.
The number of service voters stands at 20,819 .
The revision exercise began with 20,93,076 electors recorded as of May 18 .
Of these, Enumeration Forms for 1,58,677 electors were not received, leading to their exclusion from the draft electoral roll.
The excluded electors comprised 72,473 who had shifted, 43,000 who were reported deceased, 34,740 who were absent and 7,394 identified as duplicates.
Another 1,070 electors fell under other categories.
According to the CEO, Manipur, a total of 56,871 electors were added to the final roll during the revision process, while 30,650 were deleted from the draft roll.
Among the districts, Kangpokpi and Chura-chandpur recorded increase of 3,398 and 2,767 electors, respectively, in the final roll as compared to the draft roll.
In contrast, the number of electors in Senapati and Jiribam decreased by 4,780 and 1557 respectively in the final roll.
Imphal West, which has the highest number of electors at 3,78,583 also recor- ded an increase of 5,574 electors in the final roll.
The number of electors in Imphal East also increased by 4,496 .
District-wise, Imphal West has the highest number of electors in the final roll at 3,78,583 (compared to 3,73,009 in the draft roll) while Noney has the lowest at 25,654 (compared to 25,407 in the draft roll) .
The number of electors in other districts in the final roll are Imphal East (3,19,389 compared to 3,14,893 in the draft roll), Bishnupur (185,181 compared to 1,81,775 in the draft roll), Thoubal (2,06,859 compared to 2,02,671 in the draft roll), Kakching (1,18,642 compared to 1,15,286 in the draft roll), Jiribam (28,337 compared to 29,894 in the draft roll), Chandel (39,125 compared to 38,073 in the draft roll), Tengnoupal (40,060 compared to 39,911 in the draft roll), Kamjong (32,579 compared to 31,705 in the draft roll), Ukhrul (88,414 compared to 87,521 in the draft roll), Tamenglong (69,973 compared to 68,223 in the draft roll) and Pherzawl (29,012 compared to 28,604 in the draft roll) .
Meanwhile, the CEO, Manipur advised the electors to check their names in the final electoral roll at the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and the Booth Level Officers.
It also said that the final electoral roll can be downloaded from http://ceomanipur.nic.in .
The final photo electoral rolls, 2026 recorded 9,53, 350 male voters, 10,06,962 female voters and 308 third genders with elector population (EP) ratio of 51.99 and gender ratio of 1056 .
