Imphal, July 05 2021: The daily positivity rate continues to remain high, as out of 3204 tested in the last 24 hours 432 returned positive results to log a daily positivity rate of 13.5 percent.

Along with this, 8 more persons passed away due to the virus in the last 24 hours, to take the death tally to 1204 .

Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement today said that the deceased belonged to Imphal West (4), Imphal East (1), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1) and Senapati (1).They passed away at RIMS (4), JNIMS (1), Shija Hospital (2), and Ukhrul District hospital (1).Even as Manipur reported 432 new cases today, 609 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours.

The fresh infections were reported from Imphal East (118), Imphal West (73), Thoubal (44), Bishnupur (78), Kakching (31), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (14), Chandel (24), Senapati (10), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (4) and Kangpokpi (21) .

They were detected during testing at RIMS (11), JNIMS (54), District Hospitals (215) and other testing centres (152) .

All necessary containment measures and contact tracings have been put in place, claimed the statement.

On the other hand 609 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (340), RIMS (6), JNIMS (10), CCCs (102) and CHICs (151). The cumulative number of positive cases is 72,718 including 3860 Central security personnel while the number of recovered cases is 65,540 including 3786 Central security personnel.

The recovery rate has gone up a bit at 90.12 percent.

The number of active cases is 5974 including 69 security personnel.

On July 4, a total of 9570 persons received their vaccination shots taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 7,38,631 .

This is inclusive of 85,940 persons who have received their second dose.

A total of 1470 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 378 B Type Oxygen cylinders were sent to different health centres across the State in the last 24 hours.

The COVID-19 Common Control Room has once again asked all those whose oxygen level dip below 94 percent to immediately seek medical advice or shift to a Covid Care Centre.
