9 succumb, 717 positive, 740 recover

Imphal, June 05 2021:
The State witnessed nine COVID-19 deaths, 717 new positive cases and 740 recovery during the last 24 hours, according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Significantly this means that Manipur had more positve cases than Delhi which had 414 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.
Nine COVID-19 patients belonging to Imphal East (4), Imphal West (3), Bishnupur (1) and Kakching (1) expired at RIMS, JNIMS, Shija Hospital and Babina Speciality Hospital during the last 24 hours.
Taking into account, the latest victims, the death toll has reached 872 .
In the meantime, 717 fresh positive cases including two personnel of CAPF were detected at RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals and other testing centres.
Altogether 8,229 samples were tested out of which 717 were found positive.
This works out to 8.63 pc of the tested returning positive results.
The 715 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (245), Imphal East (141), Thoubal (84), Bishnupur (41), Kakching (47), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (97), Chandel (23), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (12), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (5), Kamjong (1) and Noney (3) .
On the other hand, 740 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours following recovery.
Out of them 546 were under home isolation, while 14 were undergoing treatment at RIMS, five at JNIMS and 175 at different Covid care centres.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 54,407 (general population 50,642 and Central security personnel 3,765) .
This figure includes 9,016 active cases (general population 9,008 and Central security personnel 8) and 44,519 recovered cases (general population 40,767 and Central security personnel 3,752) .
The recovery rate as on Saturday is 81.82 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 2163 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 985 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
Meanwhile, the total number of people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State has reached 4,14,026 as per the latest information provided by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Even as 15 air passengers were tested for COVID-19 at Imphal airport today, no positive case was detected.
The cumulative number of air passengers tested at the airport is 4,907 and it includes 117 positive cases.
