69 more cases of Delta variant detected in state
Thirteen patients succumb, 656 new cases detected; positivity rate still high

Another 69 cases of Delta variant of SARS-Cov-2 were detected even as the state continues to reel under the impact of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
With the 69 new cases, the total number of infections caused by the Delta variant has reached 87 .
Meanwhile, fatality and positivity rate remain high with government bulletins reporting 13 death cases and 656 new positive cases out of 4817 samples tested, presenting a positivity rate of 13.62 per cent on Friday.
At the same time, 603 patients were also discharged in the last 24 hours.
As of Friday, the active caseload of the state has reached 5970 out of which 2325 are in home isolation and 1982 in CHICs.
There are 743 patients in different hospitals with 283 of them on oxygen support and 46 are on ventilator support including 10 on NIVs.
The CCCs have 920 patients and among them 82 are on oxygen support.
The CCC at Manipur University is not functioning as of now as all the staff are being utilised in vaccination programmes.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 13 Covid-19 deaths (10 males & 3 females) in the last 24 hours.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (5), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1) and Chandel (1) .
Four patients each died at RIMS & JNIMS, three at Shija Hospitals and two at Raj Medicity.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1175 .
Five victims were in the age group of below 60 years and seven victims did not have any co-morbid conditions.
One patient died within 48 hours of arrival at hospital.
According to official reports, the 656 new cases included 651 people (322 males & 329 females) from among the general population and five personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (8), JNIMS (44), District Hospitals (420) and other testing centres (184) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (104), Imphal West (212), Thoubal (73), Bishnupur (101), Kakching (53), Ukhrul (4), Churachandpur (60), Chandel (12), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (5), Kamjong (1), Pherzawl (9), Jiribam (1), Noney (2) and Kangpokpi (6) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 603 patients discharged in the last 24 hours are from home isolation (287), RIMS (16), JNIMS (10), CCCs (139) and CHICs (151).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 70,954 (general population - 67,106 and CAPF personnel - 3,848).Number of recovered cases is 63,809 (general population - 60,028 and CAPF personnel - 3,781) and number of active cases is 5,970 (general population - 5,908 and CAPF personnel - 62) .
The recovery rate is 89.93 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 2038 D-type and 493 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District hospitals and government institutions have 456D and 90B filled cylinders while stock distributions made in the last 24 hours were Bishnupur (112D,0B), Chandel (33D,8B), Churachandpur (81D,0B), Senapati (46D,0B), Thoubal (39D,27B), Ukhrul (35D,18B), Tamenglong (19D,0B), Jiribam (48D,13B), Moreh (12D,6B), Kamjong (3D,2B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (17D, 15B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney(2D,0B) and CCCs (332D,119B).On Thursday, vaccines were administered to 15,485 individuals and the cumulative number of people vaccinated till date has reached 5,97,479 of which 84,631 have got their second dose.
Meanwhile, 26 new positive cases were detected out of 258 samples tested in Kakching district.
Out of the 26 cases, 10 were detected Jivan Hospital and 16 at government RAT Centre.
One is a resident of Chandel district and the remaining from Kakching district.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (24,812), Imphal East (15,718), Thoubal (5951), Churachandpur (5706), Kangpokpi (1788), Tamenglong (2148), Bishnupur (4519), Senapati (1392), Ukhrul (1485), Kakching (3581), Chandel (1185), Noney (572), Tengnoupal (775), Jiribam (751), Kamjong (452) and Pherzawl (119).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (417), Imphal East (305), Thoubal (112), Churachandpur (95), Kangpokpi (29), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (87), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (66), Chandel (18), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (4), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 22,866 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,862 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,93,676 tests per million population against the national average of 2,97,267 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.66 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 4817 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 13.62 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.79 per cent.
