Two more succumb, positive cases cross 13,000

Whereas the death toll has reached 88 following the death of two more persons during the last 24 hours, the State's total COVID-19 positive cases have crossed 13,000 .
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, two COVID-19 positive persons, a male and a female, died at Raj Medicity and Shija Hospital during the last 24 hours.
The male victim belonged to Thoubal district and was 55 years old while the 70 years old female victim belonged to Imphal West district.
In the meantime, 282 people including 27 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Swiss Hospital, Noney, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur, Imphal East, Kangpokpi, CMC, Jiribam, Acme, Mothers Care, Babina Diagnostics, Raj Medicity, Asian Hospital, Advance Hospital, Tamenglong and Shija Hospital.
Of the 255 civilians who have been tested positive, 131 belong to Imphal West, 44 to Imphal East, four to Kangpokpi, five to Jiribam, one to Senapati, 15 to Thoubal, one to Noney, three to Tengnoupal, 17 to Churachandpur, four to Tamenglong, three to Chandel, 13 to Bishnupur, seven to Ukhrul and seven to Kamjong.
Out of them 245 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.
On the other hand, 440 COVID-19 patients have been discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (303), JNIMS (7), RD Wing (3), CCC UNACCO (12), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (34), Tamenglong (21), Kangpokpi (4), Thoubal (2), Senapati (1), Moreh (4), Ukhrul (5) and CAPF (44).The cumulative figure of positive cases has reached 13,092 (general population 10,568, Central security personnel 2,524) .
This figure includes 2,698 active cases (general population 2,354, Central security personnel 344) and 10,306 discharged cases (general population 8,130, Central security personnel 2,176).The recovery rate as on Saturday is 78.71 per cent.
The first case in Manipur was detected on March 24 this year.
