With reports of coronavirus outbreak in China, people of Tusom are in a panicky state for Ukhrul district headquarters is very far away from the village.
Subsequently, Tusom village has resolved to restrict visitors from across the border as an immediate precautionary measure.
He further mentioned that 27 Assam Rifles has constructed a check post in the village to check movement in the region.
This has had some effect as this has helped in reducing the number of travellers from Myanmar, he said and added that the AR personnel have also banned vehicular movement in order to monitor the situation at the porous region.

Tusom village, which is located at the international boundary pillar 128, 129 and 130 is also one of the nearest entry points from across the border and is thus susceptible.
The nearest health centre is the Chingai Community Health Centre which is about 45 kms away from Tusom.
Meanwhile, Myanmar Government has also issued an order to screen travellers for coronavirus-like symptoms at all the entry and check posts.
Chinaorar added that Tusom, Challou, Wahong, Poi villages are prone to malaria and the villagers frequently complain of cough, diarrhoea, typhoid etc.
In view of the recent coronavirus outbreak, Kamjong Development Committee (KDC) has also issued a travel advisory for the people living across Kamjong district to refrain from visiting or travelling to Myanmar.
KDC has also banned travellers from Myanmar and even importing goods.
Informing this correspondent, KDC chairman Ayingpa said all the villages sharing boundaries with Myanmar have been alerted about the outbreak of coronavirus that can come from across the border.
Villages located near the international boundary pillar number 8 from Wangli village have also been instructed to keep a strict vigil on cross border movement.
