Students and teachers of Kasom Khullen High School yesterday paid befitting tribute to late SDO of Kasom Khullen Dr Th Kishan by remembering him on the occasion of installing computers in the school, thus fulfilling his dream of imparting computer education to the students of the remote sub-divisions of Ukhrul district.
It is said that late Dr Kishan was the force behind the inspiration for installation of computers under the ICT Scheme of the Directorate of Education (S), Government of Manipur.
In all 10 computer sets and other accessories including tables, UPSs, pen drives (2 GB), headphones, packages of A4 size paper and photo paper, software e-content boxes, CD recordable media (tubes), DVD recordable media (tubes), scanner, Net gear, cartridge set, eternal hard drive (160 GB) and webcam have been installed at the school by the X-treme Wave under the ICT scheme yesterday.
Speaking at the function of handing over and installation of the computer sets, headmaster of the school K Khangam said that it was to the credit of late Dr Kishan that the students of the school are going to enjoy computer facility.
During his short stint as the SDO of Kasom Khullen, the main target of Dr Kishan was to improve the education system and because of his strong interest in educational improvement and support we are getting the benefit of the ICT scheme today, Khangam said.
We will always remember the short period of lovely association with Dr Kishan and we share the grief and sorrow of his bereaved family members', the headmaster added.
The function attended by headman of Kasom Khullen village S Wungwung as chief guest and social worker K Seityajit as guest of honour also observed two minutes silence in memory of Dr Kishan.
