Women opened Bank Accounts on Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Birth Anniversary on 25 Sep, 2014

State Mahila Morcha of BJP Manipur Pradesh in collaboration of MODIfied Northeast India today celebrated the 98th Birth Anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay. To mark this anniversary, a bank opening camp was held at the residence of State Mahila Morcha President, BJP Manipur Pradesh at Iroisemba in Imphal West.

Around 200 women opened their bank accounts under PM Jan Dhan Yojana, which have already benefitted by more than One crore Indians. Today’s event was opened by Smt N Ibemcha Devi, State President, Mahila Morcha BJP Manipur Pradesh along with her office bearers who came from Churachandpur, Saikul and various Mandals.

State Mahila Morcha functionaries who were present on the occasion were Smt S Sanahanbi Devi, Vice President; Smt Wangnu Kom, Vice President; Smt O Dayabati, General Secretary; Smt Purnima Roy, Secretary and Smt L Lotika, Secretary (Media in-charge) of Mahila Morcha BJP Manipur Pradesh.

MODIfied Northeast India took initiative in the bank account opening by giving technology supports and our volunteers have helped the women who came to open their accounts in verification, filling up the forms and cross checking details of the applicant.

Under the leadership of State Mahila Morcha president, other Mandals and districts have also organized the Bank account opening camp and as per the latest records, more than 500 bank accounts have been opened altogether.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt Naorem Ibemcha Devi said that today’s camp was very important looking after the problems faced by women in opening this PM Jan Dhan Yojana. Every State Mahila Morcha unit of the BJP is organizing the Camp today under the directive of National office of the Party.

“Women are often neglected in important schemes implemented by the State and central government. We are taking this initiative to empower women, who are always deprived,” She concluded.

MODIfied Northeast India thanked Manipur Rural Bank for the support in making today’s event a grand success and our target is to support women in rural and hill districts to get maximum benefits.

We are targeting to open 1 lakh bank accounts within next 3-4 months and our volunteers are working to implement the program with the help of concerned Banks in various districts of the State.
