Synopsis of THE PLAY
Despite the family relations, the family of rich man made a strife with his poor brother's family and a fence was made on their land boundary. The rich family succeeded in garbing the farming lands of the poor family by unfair means. It is the story of family feud of two neighbours.
The relation of the neighbours became bad to worse after the family of the rich man had tried to encroach the land area by unfair means. To avoid further confrontation, the poor family tried to settle the problem through negotiation many times. The poor family thought that it is better to live together instead of dying together. But all their efforts bear no fruits.
The children of the poor family wanted to live a better way of life. They wanted to extend support to their mother. The mother of the poor family also wished her children to be successful individuals in their future. The children of the poor family whose rights were violated, did not want to live like a coward. As such Bloodshed and killings took place.
The surviving mother and child of the poor family bore the pangs of separation in the time when the most people choose to die together instead of living together.
Star Kamei - Director of 'Ringchammei Thang Theichammei'
The DIRECTOR
Star Kamei was born in Keishamthong Kabui Khul, Imphal West, Manipur, 1950, to Late Kamei Poupangai Kabui and late Shomari Kamei-pui. His educational qualification is Graduation.
He is presently working as an Inspector in the Excise Department, Govt, of Manipur. He worked as an artiste in more than 15 (fifteen) plays (Shumang Leela and Drama combined) worked as Assistant Director in more than 3 (three) plays.
Worked as Co-Director in more than 10 (ten) plays (Shumang Leela and Drama combined) worked as an artiste in more than 6 (six) Manipuri films. He is also Director of Kapuning, a Kabui feature film. Ringchammei Thang Theichammei is the 20th play of Star Kamei as an artist and as a Director.
The Director’s NOTE
In the play, the family of a rich man took away his poor brother's land and properties. The mother of the poor family consoled their children not to involve in the violent acts,as it would give a chance to the envious neighbour. She said the truth will always succeed, but things went wrong and fatal incidents happened during the border fencing of the land area.
It is the story of two neighbours, who once lived in a family, depicting the problems of the society. The central idea of the play suggest that it is better to live together instead of dying together.
The situations and incidents are placed in one setting. The same is translated and adapted into Kabui dialect by Star Kamei to show the contemporary incident in the Kabui society. The duration of the play is about two hours.

To published books on Zeliangrong music, dance, literature, drama, fine arts. To sponsor music, dance, drama, literature, fine arts etc. to award prizes and distinctions.
