Digital India Week Celebration (1st -7th July, 2015)
at Ukhrul District HQ, Manipur
The Digital India Week which is a programme to prepare India for a knowledge future was celebrated at Ukhrul District Head Quarter from 1st July to 7th July, 2015 at NIC VC Room and DRDA Training Hall. The Digital India Week celebration was organized by National Informatics Centre (NIC), Ukhrul District and Ukhrul District e-Governance Society (UDeGS). Ukhrul District participated and celebrated the DI week from its inaugural function at India Gandhi National Indoor Stadium, New Delhi by Hon’ble Prime Minister through Webcast till the last day of the celebration i.e. 7th July, 2015.
Various activities were taken up at the District during the weeklong celebration.

Day-1
(1/07/2015)
Ukhrul District participated in the launching programme of the Digital India Week through WebCast from VC Room of NIC Office Ukhrul held at Indira Gandhi National Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on 1st July, 2015. Around 45 Officials from the District witnessed the launching programme. SDOs, SDCs, DLOs and many other officials attended the function. All the officials present grasped the ideas of what is Digital India? The Officials realized that Digital India is a programme to prepare India for knowledge future.
Day-2

On the 2nd Day of the Digital India Week Celebration at Ukhrul District, registration of Digital Locker was taken up for Officers/Officials. Around 10 Officials of DRDA staffs were registered. The registration process was led by Th. Chitrasen Singh, DIO NIC Ukhrul.
Day-3
(3/07/2015)
On the 3rd Day of the celebration, registration at Digital Locker was continued and around 6 officials were registered successfully. The registration process started at 10:00 AM.
The registration process continued for 2 (two) hours which was also done under the guidance of DIO NIC Ukhrul.
Day-4
(4/07/2015)
On the 4th Day of the celebration, various activities like District Level Written IT Quiz competition was taken up. The function was graced by Deputy Commissioner as Chief Guest. Many District Level Officers, NGOs and Students took part in the function. The programme was started at 10: 00 AM with the successful conduct of Quiz competition. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the programmes of Digital India. DIO NIC Ukhrul thanked all the DLOs, NGOs and Students present and gave away the importance and need of the Digital Locker registration for all in his welcome address.
The quiz competition was held in 2 (two) categories. Standard VI to VIII as Category-1 and Standard IX to XII as Category-2. Around 80 students from various schools under Ukhrul District took part in the competition. Cash Prizes and Certificates were given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Position holders of each category by the Chief Guest of the function.

On the 5th Day, Meeting with the VLEs was held at VC Room of NIC Office at 11:00 Am and ideas of how to register at Digital Locker were explained by DIO NIC Ukhrul. Around 15 VLEs attended the Meeting. The meeting was chaired by Th. Chitrasen Singh, DIO NIC Ukhrul/Member Secretary Ukhrul District e-Governance Soceity (UDeGS). DIO NIC displayed on how to register on digital locker and its importance.
Some of the VLEs enquire about the requirements and reasons of why registration at digital locker is required and DIO explained those queries one by one. e-District Manager gave the hands on for Aadhar enrolment. Shri Kansham Modar Maring, ADIO NIC informed the VLEs present to have their own facebook accounts so that a facebook group for all the VLEs under Ukhrul District can be created in order to have easy communication and feasible group discussions among the VLEs and UDeGS. The meeting ended with vote of thanks from DIO.

On the 7th Day, Hands on IT Awareness for educated un-employed youths and School Children was taken up at NIC Training Room at 10:00 AM and continued for 4 hours. Hands on IT skills and hands on ideas were elaborated by Th. Chitrasen Singh, DIO NIC Ukhrul, K. Modar Maring, ADIO NIC Ukhrul and W.S. Raimeson, e-District Manager, UDeGS.
