Our Right To Exist

Humanity has an innate animal urge, an instinctive one to survive. This sense of an instinctive impulse to exist may come in different antagonistic ways creating an atmosphere where the survival of the fittest has come to play in the most vivid and brutal way.

Such an atmosphere may come when some individual or a group of individuals senses and has a specific meaning of its unfettered continuous existence come only by subjugating, controlling and depriving other section of the humanity of their right to exist. This brutal strangulation of a section of the Humanity's urge to survive or to exist with the understanding that their existence will endanger their existence with the desired image or result is a case of gross human right violation.

Such kind of strangulation may come and manifest in the human society in the form of many subtle ways (administrative and under deceptive ideological umbrella and instilling a false consciousness on the populace by using its best weapon the power to control to manipulate, divide, intimidate, strip of the bare minimum livelihood) and also in more visible case of militarization of the habitat of the victim populace where it has been granted the power to take life of the populace with impunity with the slightest provocation and non-existent one.

Such situation of interpretation of the right to exist entails a question of how to moderate this right. With hindsight, it is very clear this should be conditioned by a parameter of the clear understanding of what is to be human.

Every human in order to enjoy this right to exist without any devouring of its basic essence as a human would need an atmosphere where its dignity is recognized in matter of whatever it is capable and doing and is safeguarded or provided the opportunity to enable itself to sustain its life with an accompanying recognition by itself of these condition for other humans with no intent of maximizing its interest by manipulating and stifling this condition for others.

A collectivity of humans should also recognize this essence of what constitute to be human while exercising its right to exist. Many a persons have accepted and endorsed this understanding.

Every nook and corner and any visible mound viewed to be strategic of the land has been occupied by Military intimidating the civilian by pointing their all sorts of machine guns towards the populace, for them a hostile populace. And once for a while when they are challenged by resistance armed groups they spray bullets all around without even an iota of care that their action could kill and maim many innocent non-combatants.

The occupation and the requisite enforcement of control through military, legal and administrative strategies seems to spring from the logic of considering these vast terrain as virgin land waiting to be exploited and its strategic importance in serving as a geological wall for the time being against formidable potential enemies, thereby rendering the heartland at a very safe distance but devaluing the presence of indigenous humans and their strong emotive provocation which it causes to all of the populace of this land, the provocation borne out of our deep attachment and timeless, eternal responsibility to safeguard our Ipulam, our ancestral habitat.

Such sentiment of the people has been played with many bizarre games in order that the collective will may eventually succumbed by the art of attrition applied with intimidating tactics and pressures and prolonging the conflict with rules of isolation and belittling. It seems they have nothing to offer other than this sinister design to enhance their power and control to exploit against the voice of the people of their due right.

The root cause of all the violence and chaotic situation springs from the principal problem of occupation of this landscape by an alien force is always tried to be hidden and confused in the sophistry of the Administration. And in the process it is systematically tried to be projected and transformed into a kind of communal conflict between the inhabitants of this land so as to weaken and sideline the crux of the matter making the case worsen and polarization of any available differences.

And every efforts and resource investments are being made ceaselessly to divide the people of this land on any chance of possible circumstances and events.

A civilization which culminate in the formation of Meiteis among others which is believed to root predominantly their origin to the dispersal site at Makhel (near Nagaland border) Senapati District Manipur in this land is a distinct manifestation of the cultural advancement though basically of a spiritual kind in the form of reaching many higher abstract stage in the form of dance, martial art, variety of music and songs and a whole range of cultural productions which these populace is capable of provided they are organized and inclusive in outlook.

One will be enchantingly enthralled by the colorful dressings and dances and a variety of mouth-watering cuisines and hospitality and honesty of the people in this land.

The struggle always remain to continuously find out and think and work against the forces whichever try to dehumanize and demolish our existence and must make every effort to energize our existence with the ever enhancing ability to fully utilize our human potential for advancement in every way what is worth pursuing.
