No relief after end of 92-day blockade
- UNC terms Mou with Sadar hills committee 'divisive'
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | November 2, 2011:
However, there is little relief for the people as the United Naga Council (UNC)-sponsored blockade still continues along the Imphal-Dimapur and Imphal-Silchar highways.
The UNC, in a statement issued this evening, termed the MoU as “divisive scheme” to “incite communal conflict.” It said the government made the agreement without the consent of the Nagas.
Angrily reacting to the MoU, the UNC enforced a total bandh from the midnight of November 3 to the midnight of November 6 in the Naga-inhabited areas.
