NSCN-K warns Khole-Kitovi group
- Outfits fumes over cadres' 'arrest' & 'kidnap'
The Telegraph | Kohima, Oct. 16:
The Khaplang group of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K) has warned retaliation against the Khole-Kitovi faction if the group “arrested” any more of its members.
In a hard-hitting statement, the NSCN (K)’s information and publicity cell today accused the rival group of provoking them by arresting several of their cadres, including some top leaders, in Dimapur and Kohima during the past few days.
“The NSCN has decided that henceforth, if any of our members are captured or abducted, it will retaliate in an equal manner for which the Khehoi campers will be held totally answerable. For it is they who took the offensive,” the statement stated.
The Khaplang group said the Khole and Kitovi group had been harping on peace and reconciliation under the banner of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation, but were actually indulging in kidnapping and abduction of people and recruiting NSCN (K) cadres forcefully.
