Khangminashi - III : Report (Kanglei Khongyang Thijinyon)

Dr Narendra Huidrom, Sr Scientist, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune

Kanglei Khumang Thijinyon (KKT), Imphal, an advanced research centre, in collaboration with Model Hr Sec School, Takyel, Imphal organized the 3rd edition of Khangminashi Lecture Series at the premises of the school on 25th May 2018.

Dr Narendra Huidrom, Sr Scientist, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune graced the function as the resource person. He gave a talk entitled “Indian Rainfall variability in the wake of changing global climatic scenario”.

He enlightened the audience about the climate change, monsoon, rainfall and the recent trend in the rainfall fluctuation in the country and its causes. He emphasized on taking up research work that gives solutions to various problems of the country and interacted with the students for over 2 hours.

Mr L Romesh, Sr Manager, SBI, Regional Office, Imphal also attended the function as a guest and he elaborate the importance of understanding the basics of the subject that one studies. Mr K Tiken, Principal, Model Hr Sec School appreciate the members of KKT, Imphal for organizing such an interaction program.

He further elaborates that it will clear most of the queries in the mind of the students. He further promised to organize such interaction programs at his school in future.

Mr. L Gopendro, Vice Principal, Model Hr Sec School talks about the ultimate need of the scientific understanding in every aspect of life. He further wishes the members of KKT, Imphal.

Dr L Jaideva Singh, Director, KKT Imphal gave a glimpse of the objectives of KKT and details about the past Khangminashi program. He further informs that the next Khangminashi Program might possibly be organized at Slopeland Public School, Khongjom on 2nd June 2018.

The audiences were educated about the various aspects of Science and Technology through a quiz program. Mr Prakashant Moirangthem conducted the quiz program and Mr Kelvin speaks about the various Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in India.

The function was concluded with a vote of thanks from Ms Sonia Meitram and followed by light refreshment.
