2nd Sub-Junior, Junior & Senior State Level Jump Rope Championship-2019 begins

Thoubal, September 27 2019: The second edition of Sub-Junior, Junior & Senior State Level Jump Rope Championship-2019 being organised by Spontaneous Association of Jump Rope Manipur in collaboration with Thoubal District Jump Rope Association began today at Thoubal Moijing Community Hall.

The championship which will be held for three days was inaugurated by YAS Minister Letpao Haokip in the presence of Md Fajur Rahim, MLA Wabagai AC, who is also the president of Spontaneous Association of Jump Rope Manipur; former Khangabok AC MLA, O Landhoni; Zilla Parishad Member of Leishangthem GP, Md Abdul Latif and Moijing GP's Pradhan Md Abdul Warish as dignitaries.

Altogether 242 athletes (65 senior, 100 junior and 77 sub-junior) from across Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching and Churachandpur districts will be competing for top honours in this championship.

Speaking on the occasion, YAS Minister requested all to be very careful and act responsibly in moulding their wards as the State is already issue stricken.

He requested all, especially parents to encourage their wards to take up games and sports of the choice besides general education so as to avoid them from indulging in undesirable activities and bring up a healthy society.

Md Saeed Ahamed, general secretary of Spontaneous Association of Jump Rope Manipur, also maintained that the championship will act as a trial selection for the ensuing National Junior Championship due to be held in Imphal in December; Senior National Championship to be held in Assam in January next year and International Jump Rope Championship due to be held in June/ July next year in Candada.
