Asufii Football Academy win 76th All India Independence Day Cup 2024 in Assam

Senapati, December 08 2024: Asufii Football Academy (AFA) Mao made Manipur proud by winning the 76th All India Independence Day Prize Cup 2024 edition this afternoon at Nurul Amin Stadium Nagaon, Assam.

The Manipur team nominated by AMFA defeated tournament's best contender and money rich Oil India Football Cup by 2-1 margin in a thrilling grand final to seal the top honours.

The Senapati based football powerhouse AFA were also a finalist in the NSF Martyr's Cup 2024 .

The winning goals were scored by Bijoy Mukang and Sarormi.

AFA's winger Jangjagin Kipgen was meanwhile named best player of the tournament.

The AFA were feted with a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh and the title trophy along with citations.

Speaking on their way back to Manipur, AFA Technical Director, Gift Raikhan, expressed his sincere gratitude to AMFA for nominating AFA for the said tournament.

The veteran player and senior coach informed that such opportunities and exposure provided by AMFA is a golden experience for the young players.
