Imphal, September 27 2019: The High Court of Manipur has directed all the Criminal Courts within its jurisdiction to maintain a separate record book for the purpose of entering the particulars while handling over a release order of any prisoners and to take the signature of the official to whom the same is handed over.

The High Court further directed all the said Courts to strictly adhere to the Bar Council of India Rules, Chapter II, Section I Rule 10 of Standards of Professional Conduct and Etiquette to ensure that no advocates are allowed to stand as surety for release of any prisoners.
