Imphal, October 05 2015: A one day interaction and lecture programme on 'Challenge and Prospects of Merger Agreement' was held today at the multipurpose hall of Modern College.

The event was organised by Modern College Students' Union.

Retired Prof Dr Naorem Joykumar Singh and spokesperson of CIRCA, Ningthouja Lancha spoke as the resource persons while the interaction session was moderated by Dr H Indrakumar.

Principal of Modern College, Dr K Biren Singh presided the programme.

Ningthouja Lancha said that there is an urgent need to deliberate whether the contents of the merger agreement signed between Manipur and India have been adhered to in letter and spirit.

He also observed that Manipur remains underdeveloped and its development rate remaining stagnant after the signing of the merger agreement.
