Imphal, March 08 2018: Representatives of Mapithel Dam Affected Ching Tam Organisation (MDACTO) met the Governor at Raj Bhavan today and submitted a memorandum meant for the Prime Minister, for swift redressal of the grievances faced by the displaced and affected villagers owing to the construction of Mapithel Dam/Thoubal Multipurpose project.

A press release issued by the chairman of MDACTO stated that as per the memo, the association expressed firm belief and conviction that the PM would take up necessary steps to redress the grievances of the affected villagers before the proposed inauguration of the dam.

It mentioned that as per the memo, the association appealed to the PM to take up the initiative of inaugurating the dam at the dam site itself so as to fulfil the desire and aspiration of the locals and the hill people of the State.

It further mentioned that the Governor assured to take up necessary actions regarding the people affected by the project at the earliest.
