Imphal, March 08 2018: A dead body was found at a canal near Phougakchao Ikhai Bazar, under Moirang police station, today morning.

A team of Moirang police, led by OC RK Anilkumar inspected the body and identified the individual as one Moirangthem Nganba Singh of Kwakta Municipal Council, ward no 9 (currently residing at Kang Vai).

He used to work as driver of a truck which regularly plied between Imphal and Guwahati.

According to police, the deceased left home at around 12 pm yesterday and was found dead in the morning with a wounded left arm.

The police raised suspicion that he might have died due to heavy blood loss.

A case was registered at Moirang police station and a team of forensic science deposited the body at RIMS morgue for post mortem, reports our correspondent.
