Imphal, November 17 2019:
The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has sent a written invitation to the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) for a meeting at 10 am tomorrow.
The meeting would discuss about the continuous civil protest movement being spearheaded by the COCOMI, informed a source.
As a part of its continuous mass agitation against any possible negative impact of the Naga solution upon the integrity and collective interest of Manipur, COCOMI has already announced that they would boycott the Manipur Sangai Festival which would be kicked off from November 24 .
Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry has intimated the State Government that the Home Minister would not be able to attend the Manipur Sangai Festival on account of the Governors' meeting scheduled on November 23 and 24 at Delhi.
Earlier, the State Government was planning to invite Union Home Minister Amit Shah to open the Sangai Festival.
Nonetheless, the Sangai Festival would be held at Hapta Kangjeibung, Lamboi Khongnangkhong and Keibul Lamjao but in subdued scale, said the source.
