Alert sit-ins continue unabated

Imphal, November 17 2019:
Continuing the Statewide movement under the COCOMI (Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity), many alert meetings were staged all over the place today.
Keishampat Thiyam Leikai Development Committee and Keishampat Thiyam Leikai Chanura Chaokhat Thourang Lup organised an alert meeting at Keishampat Thiyam Leikai.
Reiterating COCOMI's demand to keep State's integrity intact, Thiyam Leikai Development Committee president Chongtham Iboyaima said that the locals and the committee will support all initiatives of the COCOMI.
The agreement reached between the NSCN(IM) and Government of India must not affect the State's interest, he said.

Similar alert meetings were held at many places including Sagolband Meino Leirak, Khongman Zone-IV, Konung Mamang, Khurai and Tiddim Ground etc.
Pureiromba Keithel Nupi Seva and shopkeepers of Konung Mamang area staged an alert meeting at Pureiromba Keithel.
Unity Khurai, a WhatsApp Group also staged an alert meeting at Khurai Kongpal Thongkhong while locals staged similar protest at Langthabal Phuramakhong Nambul Mapal.
Yening Band, Yening Sound, Yening Light and local Meira Paibis also staged an alert meeting at Kumbi Lainingthou ground.
United Club Organisation, an apex body of eight clubs of Konthoujam area along with Meira Paibis staged alert meeting at Konthoujam Maning Tribal Gate.
The alert meeting raised various slogans for unity and integrity.
On the sideline of the alert meeting, Konthoujam Maning Tribal Women Association chairman Achamei Kamei talked about the bond of love between the hill and the valley and urged the Government of India to honour the aspiration of the people.
The agreement between the GoI and NSCN(IM) should not affect the State and harm unity among the communities, Achamei said.
Under MPCC, Lamlai Block Congress Committee organised an alert meeting at Lamlai.
At the alert meeting, Lamlai Kendra Development Political Forum president Th Khamba denounced the local MLA for being silent on the Naga peace talk.
He urged all MLAs of the State to speak up and show their true stand on the issue.
