Imphal, October 03 2023:
Decrying the failure of both the Government of India and the Government of Manipur to take up concrete actions even after five months of continuous attacks upon Meitei people by a combined force of Kuki-Paite militants and Myanmar based terrorists, a 'people's non-cooperation movement' would be launched from October 18 .
Speaking to media persons this afternoon, Keishamthong Top Leirak Maning Meira Paibi secretary Sanabam (O) Tamphaibema said that a 'people's non-cooperation movement' would be launched from October 18 under the aegis of the Committee on People's Non-Cooperation Movement.
Tamphaibema said that the non-cooperation movement will continue until and unless the demands to ban and book ITLF, KSO, CoTU and Myanmar-based terrorists who have been waging war against innocent Meiteis, eradicate poppy plantation and disarm Kuki-Paite armed cadres completely before arms are recovered from Meitei volunteers are fulfilled.
Saying that Government employees of Churachandpur have been enjoying their salaries without doing any work while the 'no work, no pay' norm is applied in Imphal, Tamphaibema appealed to all employees of Government establishments and institutions to join the non-cooperation movement.
She said that the non-cooperation movement would not cover essential services and media.
