Public rallies, sit-in held across districts

A mass public rally in protest against the divisive policy of Govt of India was held at border town Moreh today.
The rally commenced from HTC office and moved in and around Moreh town.
Various Kuki CSOs in Moreh organized the rally during which the protesters raised their voice against the divisive policy of Central Govt which is in talk with NSCN-IM sidelining the interests of various other community settled in Manipur.
Placards which read as "No favour to one community at the expense of other communities", "We condemn the GoI Divisive & Discriminatory policy", "Fa should not infringe upon the Kuki inhabited land & political interest", "No solution without consulting stakeholders", "Justice for the innocent civilian victims in the hands of NSCN (IM)", "Is GoI the mastermind of Kuki genocide, if not why are they silent?" were used during the protest rally.
Later, a public meeting was held at HTC office and submitted a memorandum regarding the rally to PM Narendra Modi through ADC Moreh.
On the other hand, Kuki Chiefs Association, Tengnoupal District Headquarters in association with various CSOs organized a protest rally raising voices that the final solution of Indo-Naga peace talks cannot affect the Kuki inhabitated area in Manipur and sought political solution of Kukis first before finalizing the Nagas political solution.
Demanding Kukis homeland during the rally, the protesters also submitted memorandum to DC, Tengnoupal.
The rally began from Tengnoupal Community Hall ground and culminated at DC, Tengnoupal Complex.

KAKCHING: A public alert rally for the territorial integrity of Manipur in connection with the current situation brought by the Indo-Naga peace talks jointly organized by Joint Non Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO) Kakching and All Kakching Students Union (AKSU) Kakching was held at Kakching.
Women folks, male members of various Club, Organisation, Association and Meira Paibis took part in the rally organized under the banner of COCOMI and raised slogans for the territorial integrity of Manipur, lasting peace in Manipur, Long Live Manipur etc.
The rally commenced from Kakching Bazar and culminated at Ibudhou Naohallai in Kakching Bazar after passing through Kakching Khullen and different parts of Wairi.
JIRIBAM: Raising voices that the ongoing peace talks between Government of India and NSCN-IM should not harm Manipur integrity under any circumstances, Borobekra Sub-Divison Development Organisation (BSDDO) under the aegis of Co-ordinating Committee Jiribam on Manipur Integrity (COCJMI) conducted an alert meeting at Goakhal, Jiribam, today.
At the meeting, P Komlakanto Singh, general secretary BSDDO, said that people of Manipur is all set to launch intense agitations, 'without fear of losing their lives', if the final solution to the vexed Naga issue harm Manipur interest.
President of Lamtaikhunou Meira Paibi, Moirangthem Rasheswori Devi also urged the Government of India to be very careful while finalizing the peace process as it has the potential to burn Manipur inside out once again.
Meanwhile, Meitei Pangal Women Development and Welfare Association, Jiribam in association with Progressive Meitei Pangal Society, Jiribam and All Jiribam Meitei Pangal Women Society Jiribam has extended solidarity to the movement against any affect on State's integrity as a result of the Naga peace talks.
Speaking to media persons, spokesperson of the three associations Abdus Salam Sajabam said that they welcome the ongoing Naga peace talks but it should not, in any way, harm the integrity of the State or the administration, socio-economics and culture of Manipur.
BISHNUPUR: Jamiatul Ulama Boryangbi along with various CSOs and Meira Paibis in Boryangbi Gram Panchayat also joined the rally/movement against any harm on the integrity of the State following the Naga peace talks.
The rally was taken out from Laingoubi till Sagang Bazar where all the protesters gathered and shouted many slogans.
THOUBAL: Ningol Club Heirok along with People Action for Change, Heirok organised a torch rally at the surrounding areas of Heirok.
The rally started from Heirok Bazar and winded up at the same location where the protesters raised many slogans.
IMPHAL: Sinam Youth Development Club in association with Sinam Nupi Yaipha Lup, Sinam Village Development Committee, Sinam Kom Village Authority and Sanjellok village organised a sit in protest against any impact of the political dialogue, at Sinam community hall today.
A press release issued by secretary of the club stated that it supports the ongoing movement by COCOMI.
