Imphal, October 25 2016:
The attack carried out against a ministerial team led by Chief Minister O Ibobi at Ukhrul yesterday was instigated by BJP, alleged MLA GS Haopu.
The MLA representing Singngat AC was speaking at the silver jubilee celebration of Mateijang village located within Sangaikot sub-division and the inauguration of a newly constructed Church building.
Addressing the huge gathering, GS Haopu said that Chief Minister O Ibobi has been working relentlessly for uniform and rapid development of the State without any distinction between hill districts and valley districts and this is something unprecedented.
The Ibobi Government has been paying extra attention to the hill districts which are relatively backward.
His Government has been working hard to construct SDO/BDO complexes in 27 blocks spread across all the hill districts, claimed Haopu.
It is the duty of the Government to inaugurate and hand over the development projects to people in time.
It is highly condemnable that the ministerial team led by the Chief Minister was attacked in the most violent manner using lethod bombs at Ukhrul yesterday.
Attacking a Chief Minister or a leader of a State manifested savagery on the part of the assailants, he added.
GS Haopu also rubbished the allegation made by BJP leaders Th Chaoba and V Hangkhalian during a political conference of BJP on October 21 that he had been degraded from contractor to sub-contractor and he was indirectly responsible for the death of nine people at Churachandpur last year.
He remarked that the allegation was a cheap propaganda.
He went on to claim that he was fully committed to serve the people of Singngat AC with heart and soul.
BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president V Hangkhalian has changed five political parties since he was first elected to the State Assembly in 1990 and now he has been sowing seeds of division among the people to score political mileage.
Churachandpur DC Lunminthang Haokip, Sangaikopt SDO Lamminlen Vaiphei and ECA (ECCI) former Director Red D Jangkholam were also present at the inaugural function of the newly constructed Church building.
