GP College TSU warns of protest

Imphal, August 03 2022: Tribal Students' Union, GP Women's College has demanded immediate and unconditional release of the arrested leaders of All Manipur Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM), and warned of launching various intense agitations if the demand is not met.

Addressing a press meet held at Chingmeirong here on Wednesday, Union president Grace Kipgen said that instead of arrestingthe leaders of ATSUM, the matter could have been discussed peacefully.

However, the arbitrary arrest of leaders of apex body of tribal students without providing any information is condemnable, especially considering the fact that tribal leaders are arrested every time there is an issue concerning the tribal communities.

Thus, she demanded immediate release of the arrested ATSUM leaders, failing which intense agitations will be launched with the co-operation of other student bodies from Thursday onwards.
