Imphal, August 03 2022: While stating that the Agriculture Department has been providing fertilisers well ahead of time to the farmers of the state; Department's director M Joy Singh has expressed regret over claims on social media that vast quantities of fertilisers are being kept at Jiribam train station and MLAs have been urged to distribute the same, as an attempt to portray the department in bad light.

Speaking in this regard, the director clarified that the fertilisers are being kept at Jiribam train station temporarily owing to the ongoing repair work of Irang bridge and the poor condition of Khoupum road.

He then said that the department has adequate stock of fertilisers in the godown, while adding that the department has been providing the fertilisers regularly.
