Imphal, February 26 2016 :
JNIMS
has started providing life
saving drugs free of cost to
patients at the casualty section
and it is said that a pharmacy
which would remain open
round the clock will be opened
soon within the hospital
complex.
Talking with
The Sangai
Express
, JNIMS Director
Prof L Deben said that pa-
tients and patient parties who
come to the hospital during
night time have been facing
lots of difficulties as there are
no pharmacies inside the in-
stitute's campus which remain
open till late night.
Tender process for open-
ing the 24X7 pharmacy has
been initiated and its spot
identified, Prof Deben said.
Maximum efforts are be-
ing invested to open the
pharmacy within the current
month.
Discount of 10 to 15 per
cent would be given on medi-
cines sold at the pharmacy.
If
the medicines are for treat-
ment of cancer, there would
be discount of 20 per cent.
As for the medicines pro-
vided by the hospital author-
ity free of cost, the hospital
authority has been verifying
whether patient parties actu-
ally receive the medicines or
not by taking their mobile
phone numbers,
Revenue earned by the in-
stitute has doubled in the past
year.
The number of OPD
patients and surgical opera-
tions performed in the
hospital have also doubled.
This achievement can be at-
tributed to the patient friendly
initiatives taken up by the
hospital authority, said the
Director There is adequate supply of potable water inside the hospital cam-
pus but there were times when the water supply ran short on
account of keeping the water taps opened or removing the water
taps by some patient parties.
He then appealed to all the people to keep the hospital neat
and clean.
On the other hand, information received by press said that
there are some super speciality doctors at JNIMS but they are
unable to render their service to patients effectively on account
of absence of adequate equipment.
