DC inspires freshers at Mount Everest College's meet

The 24th Freshers' Meet at Mount Everest College in Senapati was held under the theme 'Even the greatest were once beginners' on Friday with DC Senapati Mamoni Doley as the chief guest.
Gonmei Meithuanlungpou, the vice-principal of the college, opened the meet with a warm welcome that echoes Mahatma Gandhi's wisdom on factors that can harm individuals and society.
He encouraged students to dream big, reminding them of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's words, "Small dreams are a crime".
DC Mamoni Doley urged freshers to approach their college journey wisely, make informed career choices, and stay committed to their goals.
She emphasised that proper preparation would lead to fulfilling experiences and encouraged diverse reading, especially biographies of prominent figures.
The DC stressed the importance of college life, advocating participation in extracurricular activities for teamwork and leadership development.
She advised students to join clubs and explore online courses for additional knowledge.
The event showcased cultural performances, including dances and theatrical displays, concluding with the election of Mr and Miss Fresher, 2023.Shamir Chhetri was crowned Mr Fresher, and Angelina Thiek won Miss Fresher.
Other awards were also presented celebrating the talents and personalities of the students.
