Imphal, October 03 2023:
Observing that formation of organisations by those in politics may create confusion among the people, All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPCO) has urged the people to stand united and prevent such confusion.
In a release, AMYPCO finance secretary Koijam Suresh stressed the need for unity among the people and supporting one another by distinguishing friends and foes and urged the people not to fall into the trap laid by enemies.
Asking the security forces whether tear gas, stun grenades and rubber bullets were fired to disperse the mob that burnt down the houses of Meiteis in Sugnu, Serou, Moreh and Churachandpur, he lamented that there was no one to save the Meiteis when they sought help.
However, when Meitei launched democratic protest, security forces particularly RAF used excessive force on the civilians, who are simply demanding justice.
Such differential treatment is highly condemnable, he added.
