"Naga people aware of GOI's divisive tactics"

The 7th anniversary of signing of the Framework Agreement between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM was held with formation of human chain in Chandel district on Wednesday.
Naga villagers starting from Modi village to Maipou village came out on the Chandel-Pallel Road and formed a human chain with Naga flags in their hands to mark the anniversary event was organised by Chandel Naga People's Organization (CNPO) .
Speaking on the occasion, CNPO president RD David Boyes Anal pointed out that Naga people honour the historic agreement signed between the GOI and the NSCN-IM but the centre's interlocutor and various intelligence units being utilised by government of India under the agreement have broken the Naga society.
The government of India fully understood differences among the Naga society and the Naga problem could had been settled way back if the central government was sincere enough, he said, adding that the Naga people fully understand GOI's divisive tactics.
He also said that GOI should not play with the sentiments of Naga people but rather concentrate on bringing an honourable solution.
While appealing to non-Naga communities particularly the Meitei population to understand the Naga problem, RD David Boyes said that the solution to Naga problem will be beneficial for every community and it will not affect the land of Meitei and other people.
